Australian
Infrastructure Design (AID) was established in Newcastle
in August 2004 by Brett Furner.
Brett recognized a need for a good local telecommunications
infrastructure services provider in Newcastle and the
Hunter Valley. He also realized that there was a lack
of high-quality designers outside of Telstra who knew
how the Telstra network worked in detail.
From small beginnings with just one team of designers
and one team of construction workers in the field force,
AID has grown rapidly into one of the largest contractors
for end-to-end telecommunications solutions to industry
clients in New South Wales.
AID continues to provide the basic services that gave
the company its start with Telstra. More recently, however,
it has concentrated on building relationships with other
utilities and working on larger-scale projects for industry
specialists to Telstra.
